Sarina dances at the Medge Summer Alternative show as the Dark Lord in a Harry Potter themed belly dance piece. Those who are fans of the series will recognize Harry Potter glasses, scar, Death Eaters, wands, dark marks and more from the performance. And of course, just like Quirrel, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Names was growing out of the back of someone's head. Best of all, his eyes glowed green!
Sarina makes attractive belly dance or swimwear cover ups. At this point, all cover ups have been sold and they are only available by custom order at this point.

This Andalusian and Romani-inspired style performance was done at Cozmic Pizza in Eugene, Oregon. Gipsy Nouveau was an event at Cozmic Pizza put on by Fusion Friendly, an organization originally founded by Sarina. Gipsy Nouveau featured the talent of local belly dancers as well as Znama from Portland, Oregon.
Sarina's time living in Korea and then Japanese inspired her to fusion some of the moves she learned from Yosokoi with her current dance vocabulary. In this photo she wears a kimono as a cover up. Her hair is ornamented with hair acessories like women wore with kimonos on festival days in Japan. She imitates the "kanzashi" sticks women decorated their hair with, though when she lived there she was told it was very unusual to use "hashi" or chopsticks for this purpose because it was like using a fork to tie up a bun.
One of the joys of tribal fusion is the challenge and freedom of combining belly dance with other dance styles. it is important to Sarina to combine elements in a way that creates a unity in costume, dance moves and music. In this performance she wears a belt, bra and hair fascinator she made herself. Her hat was one of her grandma's.
Sarina performs with blue fans during a Middle Eastern Dance Guild of Eugene Alternative Show during the month of February. She performed to Mood Area 52's music as well as other jazz musicians. From the 1920s themed costume, to the music selection to the dance moves reminiscent of vaudeville and burlesque, Sarina's entire performance fit the vintage theme she wished to evoke. Sarina also makes and sells many fascinators (hair clips) that resemble vintage fashion attire of the era.
